CAR COLLECTORS AND ENTHUSIASTS TAKE INFORMATION SUPERHIGHWAY
TO CLASSIC CAR SHOW
AMELIA ISLAND, FL, (October 15, 1996) -- For those attending the Second Annual Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance on March 7-8, 1997, spectators will see the finest collection of classic cars and motorcycles ever showcased on the eastern seaboard. If you can't make it to the 'newest world-class concours' in March, however, you can still preview the event and see all the famous cars via the Internet.
ClassicCarShow.com, a 24-hour online resource center for information on collector cars, is making the Florida event available to any car aficionado with a modem. Instead of admiring all the classic cars by strolling the 18th fairway at Amelia Island, web browsers can stroll the pages of the website. To visit the event on the World Wide Web, here's the address: http://www.classiccarshow.com, and here's what you will find:
"We'll have 165 of the world's finest collector cars showcased along the 10th and 18th fairways of the Golf Club of Amelia Island," said Bill Warner, contributing editor, Road & Track Magazine and co-chairman of the event. "The web site allows us to share the pageantry of the event with a world-wide audience and extend an open invitation to join us for the weekend of activities. The web site is actually an event all its own!"
The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance (Parade of Excellence) is presented by Mercedes-Benz of North America, and based on the first such exhibition held in France in the late 1800's. Today, these events are held in places such as Bagatelle of Paris; London; Pebble Beach, California, and Meadowbrook, Michigan. Other event sponsors include Merrill Lynch, Barnett Bank and Rolex Watch.
